What is Trig hunting?
Simply put, it is shooting NPC’s that drop items for you to loot, salvage, and eventually sell on the market for isk.
In the Trig hunting fleets, long ranged ships such as Marauders and Battlecruisers, will pew those pesky triangles before they know what hit them. If you’re a Triglavian sympathizer, you may want to check out some of our other fleets. Otherwise, keep reading for all of the fleet information such as ship doctrine, where the fleet meets, and information about how to hunt!
Where is form-up?
99% of the time we will be forming up in Charra. Sometimes we might go out to visit other trig hunting areas. Our staging is also an amazing area for running missions as it has level 1 to 4 agents in station.
Staging: Charra VII – Moon 19 – Ministry of Assessment Information Center
When is the next fleet?

The bread and butter of your fleet are the marauders, these guys are the ones that will stress out your salvage pilot and make them work damn hard. But let’s back up for a moment and go through the different fittings.

Fleet ship roles
Now that you have an understanding of what we fly and how they are fit, lets go over the roles for each ship.
Noctis - Salvage
The noctis is your money maker, without this guy you can't make any isk!
The goal with this ship is to clean up any wrecks and loot everything that the DPS kill. This pilot will not be able to partake in the pewing of triangles due to needing positive standing with the Triglavian Collective for safety reasons.
Paladin - Main DPS
The core of the fleet, the paladin is the best suited ship for long ranged trig hunting due to its high DPS and instant ammo changes, allowing you to keep NPC’s at an optimal range at all times and in turn, deal the most DPS you can at all times. No fleet is complete without one. A paladin pilot will follow the standard order of engagement. This is the only ship that is able to ‘solo’ trig hunt.
Kronos - Alternative DPS
The kronos is a great addition to any fleet, having high and constant DPS with amazing range. A kronos pilot will follow the standard order of engagement.
Vargur - Alpha DPS
The vargur is the odd-ball of the fleet, boasting very high alpha damage. Due to this your target prioritisation will be largest to smallest as long as it doesn't conflict the Range prioritisation rule.
Dominix - Multiboxing DPS
The dominix is generally resigned to ‘lazy’ multiboxers as the drones can be assigned to your main DPS ship. Outside of that, all other ships are preferred.
Naga - Newbro DPS
The naga has and always will be a welcome sight. While it is not able to keep up with a marauder, it out DPS’s the dominix and is a great ship to learn in.
Naga - Alpha DPS
The alpha version of the naga is a very friendly ship to fly but lacks a MJD, due to this, you may have to warp out when things get a little spicy. While it may not have a desirable amount of DPS, it is designed to get even the newest of players involved.
Order of engagement
As with most high level ratting, some things are more dangerous to you than others. I’ll be covering what you need to prioritise here as well as the sub prioritisations in order of importance. This can get a little complex, but the general rule of thumb is small stuff first, then closest to farthest.
Range prioritisation
Different ships have different range priorities due to their speed, I’ll put them in order for you here.
- Damavik - 120km
2. Kikimora - 120km
3. Rodiva - 100km
4. Vedmak - 100km
5. Drekavac - 100km
6. Leshak - 90km
If any of these ships get within the stated ranges, you must kill them. This must be followed or you will put yourself or the fleet in danger.
Ship class prioritisation
This one is pretty simple, smallest to largest. Here is a list of what you want to shoot in order.
- Damavik - Frigate
2. Kikimora - Destroyer
3. Rodiva - Logi cruiser
4. Vedmak - DPS cruiser
5. Drekavac - Battlecruiser
6. Leshak - Battleship
This is the prioritisation that you will mostly be following unless it conflicts with the first list.
Ship role prioritisation
You’ll notice that each NPC has a role designated in their name, e.i. Renewing Kikimora, Blinding Damavik, ect. The only ones that you need to make note of and target are as follows.
- Anchoring - Warp scrambling
- Renewing - Remote reps
- Ghosting - Tracking/Guidance disruption
- Starving - Nuets
- Everything else
This list should be followed alongside the ship class prioritisation but is not a requirement, just good practice, unless it conflicts with the first list.
Ship prefix prioritisation
You should have also noticed that some ships have yet another tag designated in their name. This is important as it tells you if that ship will do more DPS or take more damage than the others.
- Zorya
- Liminal Hospodar
- Hospodar
- Liminal
- Liminal Ranaborg
- No prefix
- Raznaborg
It's doubtful that you will ever come across a Zorya, but I have put it on this list for if you ever do. Again, this should be followed alongside ship class prioritisation, unless it conflicts with the first list.
Trig Hunting Fleet Frequently Asked Questions
Below you’ll find some of the frequently asked questions about the Triglavian Hunting fleets. Find out if there are handouts, if this will affect your trig standings and other important information.
Can anyone participate in the Trig Hunting fleet?
Yes! This is a public fleet hosted by Eve Rookies.
The only thing that we ask on all of our PVE fleets is to please make sure the character you come out on isn't:
- In faction warfare
- Have a kill right against it
- In a corp or alliance with an active War Dec
If any of those 3 situations apply, please bring a character that can fly one of the doctrine ships but is in the free and clear! Remember, alpha's are more than welcome!
How much isk can I make?
This is heavily dependent on how many people and what ships everyone is flying. For simplicity lets say you are doing it ‘solo’ with two characters, one salvaging and another in a ship doing around 1400 DPS. you should expect to earn around 400 - 450 mill per hour when done correctly.
Will shooting Triglavians ruin my standings?
YES.
If you went to Pochven to fix your standings with the Trigs so you can fly through systems without them bothering you (important for incursion runners with their own ships!!), this will ruin that standing.
To get around this, please consider firing up an Alpha to use for this particular fleet. With the 1 Million Skill Points, you can get into the ship quickly with a Caldari character. Go for the necessary skills then pump up lock time and damage as much as you can!
Is there an alpha suitable ship option?
Yes! We try to make sure there's an alpha suitable option where ever possible.
Please check out the Naga - Trig Hunter (Alpha)!
Are there handouts available?
Don't have your own ship? No worries! We have your back! There are ships available for both alpha and omega accounts!
Unlike some of the other fleets hosted by Eve Rookies or partners, there's no need to pay a deposit for the ship. If it's not handed back in at the end of the fleet, the cost will be taken out of your portion of the earnings.
Please remember there's only a certain amount of handouts, so first come first served. Be at the dock-up on time!
Is there SRP available?
If your doctrine ship blows up due to FC error or ganking, please give the kill mail to the FC and your ship will be SRP'd.
The difference will be what drops from the wreck + insurance.
