CCP has decided to introduce the Weekend Fleet Pack for Eve Online. We’ll go ahead and talk about it from a rookie player standpoint and what it might mean to you!
What is the Weekend Fleet Pack?
The Weekend Fleet Pack is a simple pack located in the Eve Online Store. It consists of Omega time and Plex.
Specifically, the account making the 3.75 purchase will get 3 days of Omega play time and 50 Plex.
Should New Players Buy This Pack?
In my opinion this pack is not for a new player under 6 months to a year old.
Why?
To train Omega accessible ships, you need more than 3 days of Omega time. Until you have the ships you want to fly trained, it’s better to spend your money on packs that have 30 or more days of Omega.
This way your skill training queue is consistently training.
Who Do You Think This Pack IS For?
I think this Weekend Fleet Pack is going to be great for the characters who have everything trained such as:
- the vet who suddenly only has 1 weekend to play but doesn’t want to pay for 30 days omega
- those with alts that are suddenly needed (cyno, dread, scanning alts for example)
- the vet who only logs in once or twice a month to go on a NPSI roam
- players who have been gone a long time but find 3.75 acceptable to see what’s changed
In other words, I really don’t feel for a rookie player 3 days gives much of an advantage.
