It’s that time of year again and the Alliance Tournament is upon us once again. For 2024 we’re celebrating ATXX. However, if you’re new to Eve, you may not know what the Alliance Tournament is.
In this article, we’ll talk about the AT and I’ll be posting a really awesome video by Ali Aras that explains the basics of what the AT is all about.
What is the Alliance Tournament?
Imagine a big, exciting space game where thousands of people fly spaceships around and do all sorts of things. They may fight pirates, or each other. They could trade on the market, or go out exploring. Now, think of a special event where the best teams of spaceship pilots get together to see who’s the best in New Eden. That’s what the Alliance Tournament is all about.
What’s the Difference Between the AT and Regular PVP?
It’s worth mentioning that tournament PVP is much different than hopping in a fleet and blowing up your enemy’s ships.
In normal PVP, you go out with your corporation or even your alliance. Or, you might fleet up with random individuals in NPSI (Not Purple Shoot Them) type fleets. Then you undock and find things to blow up.
With tournament pvp, you don’t have to go looking for the target. The other team is right there with you in an arena. There are boundaries you have to stay within (kind of like Abyss boundaries) and rules to follow.
