When Eve Rookies started, the core group of pilots were more or less new to incursions. Most of us could only get into the Praxis, maybe a Vindi or Nightmare. FCs mostly flew logi in order to get the fleets up and running. We really didn’t think people would stick around and continue skilling up. Today, we have some fleets that are almost entirely Marauders!
So, it’s time to introduce the Eve Rookies Advanced VG Fleets!
What are Advanced VG Fleets
When everyone in the fleet has learned what to shoot, when to shoot, and how to align, the fleet runs like a well oiled machine. On top of that, when the fleet has T2 ships with pilots who are good at flying them, the isk generation goes up and there’s a lot of fun to be had!
That’s what an advanced fleet is! Pilots have already been on training fleets and know what they’re doing, so now it’s time to apply it and make that sweet isk!
Who is Eligible for Advanced Fleets?
Any pilot who has flown incursions. It doesn’t have to have been with Eve Rookies, but you need to know:
- how to make your watchlist w/o being asked
- make sure you’re safety is set to green, you’re not in a war dec’d corp and you have no kill rights
- how to pay SRP (15m) without being asked
- what to shoot (tags may or may not happen)
- when to align
- when to take the gate
- how to enter site if fleet already went in
- how to broadcast
If the FC doesn’t know you, he or she reserves the right to ask you questions to verify your knowledge about incursions.
What Can Be Flown on Advanced Fleets?
Marauders (vargur, paladin or kronos), Vindicators and Nightmares. Preferably with T2 guns, but if you’re not quite trained yet we won’t kick you. You’re already getting the ship bonuses!
Will Advanced VG Fleets Replace the Existing Ones?
NO! Any advanced fleet will be pinged outside of our normal scheduled fleets. We may introduce a new time/day for advanced fleets but we will continue running our Mon/Friday 11:30 and Tues/Fri/Sun 18:00 fleets as normal training fleets. Nothing changes.
Isn’t This Contrary to What Eve Rookies is About?
Without goals, the game gets pretty boring.
Before now, we didn’t have use for the advanced fleet concept. However, with so many people trying our fleets, sticking around and training up into T2 hulls, there’s now an option for those who put the work into the hulls!
Everyone, regardless of skills are still welcome on our training fleets, so there’s going to be plenty of opportunity to fly!
Remember to watch the ping channel on the Eve Rookies discord for advanced VG fleet pings!
